Photobucket and Image Linking - Online Extortion

Well folks, it looks like Photobucket have decided to extort money from those who have a free account by not allowing 3rd party linking :yikes:

In other words, if you use the [img]-[/img] tag to link photos to a website or forum, you will not be able to do this anymore. To get your photos back and to display you will need to pay an annual fee of $399.

This is complete extortion and we will be figuring out how best to deal with this going forward. Will keep you posted.

In the meantime, sorry for the following "blanks" you will see on the site :Don't Like:

Right then. So, in order to work around the Photobucket issue, we have started hosting those pictures posted by members as attachments on our site (the IF) site. So far we have re-linked all posts relevant to 2017 threads and so you should not see the error image on any of our current topics.

Pictures older from 2016 back will not be re-linked as that is just too much PT and a waste of time.

PS, please remember that generally we don't do the attachment thingy on this site and request that members use other image hosting sites to link their pictures here. For the very few that don't have such hosting, we will upload your attachments to the IF site and re-post with the img tag coding.

There are some clever people out there. A solution for Photobucket is available.

This website will fix blocked Photobucket images. It might not be the complete solution but its better to edit URL's rather than re-upload pictures to a new hosting site etc. This tool will convert a blocked Photobucket image from your forum to a working url:

I posted the above image directly from photo bucket without any modification, however I did briefly see the blank as indicated above.
If this is how photo bucket wants to operate, I will find another host.
