John,

I've looked into this numbering and I can change it. However notice the changes as below.

- Each topic's post will get a number, starting with 1, not a unique post id number.
- The lay out of the forum is going to change, I can probably get it to look more or less like it looks now, but can't guarantee it.

Let me know if you guys want me to change it.

I agree to what all of you say/write the thing is that you need numbers to keep it attractive. Like Bingo says sitting around the campfire. But think about it how long will you sit around the campfire?

So in order to keep this up in the long time there has to be some improvements.

Not difficult things but some small things, like when you post you have a counter and the post gets a unique number.

And we need to get the personal adds up and running there is where I always take a look first on other forums and If I do it I am not alone in that.

And we we should know what we are allowed to do and what not in terms of marketing in order to keep everybody happy and not hurt anyone.
Around 20:00 tonight I will change the forum, it will take me about 20 minutes to try and get it to look what it looks like now. You will get a post number under each topic, however NO unique post id number, this forum doesn't allow it.

As for the personal adds, the section is there, use it as you seem fit, I'm sure people are smart enough to advertise what is allowed and what is not.

I did not mean the advertisements it self but advertising this forum in the flying community.

Personal adds should be used more so people come back all the time.

Its a serious thread, what can you do and how to do it. Security is an important fact of life in Africa

I'm more thinking along the lines of international and aviation. We will look into it, thanks for the suggestion John!

John, we have talked about it and decided that there is room for that in the existing forums. What I suggest you do is, create such a thread in the "braai area" and we will turn it into a sticky.

"Farmer's Corner" aka "The Pull Bingo's Leg Thread" should be sticky as well.

Thanks for your hard work and dedication Mental Pilut! I agree with Bingo-this site is a home for friends and it strength is not in the numbers but in the quality of the friendship.

Thanks broer Kompos! It's done with pleasure, although I have to admit, being new to all this, it can be frustrating trying to figure out how it all works. Unfortunately there are quite a bit of limitations to this freebee forum, but if you know how to write html, bob's your uncle. So I guess I'll have to start learning something new....
