It's quite something to watch that video knowing what is going to happen next. I am just amazed at the speed they were going at before the crash. They really were barreling along. In this regard, the outcome was very good in terms of those who survived.
Referring to the speed, I was surprised of the short time frame from the sounds of the first impact to the dead stop. In the clip there appeared from the window view, a few flat open areas that may have been an option.
It really has been fascinating watching all the evidence that is out there and seeing what actually transpired. Interesting point Proppies

I have some opinions on the crash but not really wanting to get into it in too much detail on a forum. Bottom line, I think he should have put the airplane down long before he even got onto a downwind leg, again, my opinion.
Taking off from Wonderboom you either head towards the dam on the East or to ?? on the west. Which way did they take off on the day of the accident?
