So it went down to 50L? When I was there in March I think it was something like 75L per household member. We also had to shower with the bucket and use it to flush our toilets. Dubai's water comes from a desalinisation plant and certainly doesn't taste great. Everyone looses a lot of their hair here which is claimed to be caused by that water.
The 75l we could handle. The problem comes in with your washing machine etc. Are we entertaining this weekend. So you have a couple of mates around and before you know it 10 extra pax in your house. You cannot really keep buckets out for your guests flush the toilet. Hey guys if its yellow let it mellow etc. etc. etc.

With the panic came the thousands and thousands of bottled water brought into the Cape "not to have been bottled in the Cape". Well now everyone has a surplus second to none since the Auntie postponed Day Zero.

The bigger clusterf*ck is that the council dramatically increased the cost of water, to the point where my usage has come down yet my bill has tripled... So you think they'll bring the cost down when our water situation is sorted out? Never in a gzillion years! thieves and scumsuckers the whole lot of them!

Yip decrease your water usage, but hey we need to subsidise the other folk, so you will pay an extra R150 to help us. Non returnable. The other problem is that with 200l per household per day, you need to submit an affidavit if there are more inhabitants. So I work on 6kl per month. Aha, we only used 3kl so i can quickly put some water into the pool. On our present meters yes. On the new meters NO. They cut off after 200l per day, so you cannot carry over should your big washing day be on Saturday etc.

So after putting it off for the last 3 months, I decided to take the MAX exam today after reviewing the differences course on the CBT. Unfortunately I passed with 100% so I can now expect punishment by flying the MAX on layovers. Once I'm flying it, I'll take some pics for you B407

Thanks gents  Our 7th MAX is arriving in DXB today. I think a total of 175 were ordered and next year we'll get 2 per month.
