Pity that. I'm sure you are busy trying to find another one soon :champion:

So after several failed attempts in the past, I finally decided I need some help kicking my disgusting habit. Booked myself, the wife, brother in law (codeman) and his fiancé in by Doctor Zipp for the 14th of March to quit smoking. Hopefully this acupuncture will work and I'll be free once and for all.

Let me share my smoking "story" with you - it may just help. (I'll summarize - to make it "short")
I started smoking at 8 and in 1978 I did 100 Chesterfields a day / for 20 years.
At this stage I was Instructing at CFS DNTR on Harvards and the "social life" was a KILLER.. :beer2: ..not to mention the "hangovers".....which is NOT NICE when flying with ab-initio students in a Harvard !! :flush: !! Poor "students" therefore endured some serious hungover Instructors at various stages...
I spent one Dec in George and a Lay preacher gave me this advice which "I tried & tested" Viola....the pupes smiled afterwards.
It boils down to this:
Buy a packet of dried prunes (the BIG one's with the pit "inside" and carry it with you at ALL times.
Every time you feel "the urge" to smoke...(DON'T  do it)....replace the cigarette with a prune (the ONLY discipline required), suck/chew on prune until mouth FULL of prune-juice (spit pit out) and swallow slowly....followed by glass of water....(to prevent runny-tummy). THAT's IT!!!!!

The principal idea here is: The "NEED for NICOTENE" is SATISFIED/CANCELLED/DULLED by the effect of the prune juice to the blood stream!!!
It worked for me = and I QUIT my 100 Chezzies after about 8 to 10 prunes. This is now my 39-th year without a weed. The BIG "temptation" is when socializing ...(which CFS Dunnottar was renowned for).... but resisting the temptation for about 10 prunes / 2 x weeks...... I never touched it again!!

Strue's BOB!

Whatever remedy you choose = GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks for all the support and the advice guys! The acupuncture does apparently that what the prune juice does, takes away the craving for nicotine. I'm looking forward to go there on the 14th (I hope I get the day off from work as I was late putting this requested day in).

Sorry to burst your bubble GU but it won't be over for about another 2.5 years. That's how long it will take for the national dam % full to get back to 95% plus. So expect the water restrictions to remain in place until at least next summer. We still got to get through this winter season :good:

But all the rain is most certainly welcome :thumbsup1:

Drove through bad weather south of Joburg again this morning and passed two accident scenes. Reminds me of the Simon & Garfunkel song "Slip Slidin Away".
