Just had news from Lize (avi jr) - ice-sleet rain in Bloemfontein at the moment.

I can't believe it....... I just had hail, yes HAIL, falling on the Allen Gardiner......... 1st time that ever happened.

Hijack! Who's bright idea was the heading of this thread? *avi's* a witch - no meteorologist/weather prophet! In any case Tnx - I'm honourred. (Can't get a smiley 'active' with this Blerry Berry - tried several times before!). But it works on FA! :D

WATCHES:
--------
1. Heavy south-westerly swell in excess of 4m is expected to develop
between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas on Friday evening,
spreading to Walvis Bay and Port Alfred on Saturday.
2. Heavy rainfalls ( > 50mm) is expected in places over Cape Peninsula,
south and southwestern parts of Cape Winelands District and
Overberg District overnight to Saturday.
3. Severe thunderstorms are expected over the eastern part of Northern
Cape spreading on Saturday to western Free State and interior of Eastern
Cape.
4. Very cold conditions are expected over the highground of the
Western Cape, southern highground of the Northern Cape as well as
over the northern highground of the Eastern Cape on Saturday.
