Friday the 13th: Flight 666 makes it safely to HEL

Copenhagen — The Helsinki airport says Flight 666 has arrived safety in HEL - the airport code for the Finnish capital - for the last time.

The Finnair flight took off from Copenhagen, Denmark, in the 13th hour of Friday the 13th, headed for Helsinki Vantaa airport.

Finavia, which operates Finland's 21 airports, says the flight landed eight minutes ahead of schedule at 15:47 local.

The flight started 11 years ago and has fallen on Friday the 13th 21 times with no reported ill effects.

Still, Finnair has decided to retire the flight number. As the carrier is switching around some flight numbers later this month, Flight AY666 will become AY954.

You can mitigate the bad luck effects of Friday 13th by the following (from WikiHow)

Get out of the bed on the right side (that is, not the left side). This side is guaranteed to make your day luckier according to some superstitions. If you can't get out on that side because it is next to the wall or for another reason, just skip this step.
Wear red underpants. Apparently this color will bring you more luck than other colors. Whatever you do, don't choose green underpants or luck might abandon you.
Get your most trusted lucky charm out. Place it in your pocket and wear it all day.
Forget the cleaning. Few need to be told this most days but Friday the 13th is a great excuse because apparently handling a broom is unlucky on this day, as is changing the sheets, flipping the mattress, or doing the laundry. So forget the cleaning and just enjoy your day.
