St Helena Airport in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean is set to see its largest visitor yet when G-TCSX visits the island on Monday, 6 March.

The 757 will be flying to St Helena from Walvis Bay, Namibia and arrive at approximately 1400 Local/UTC. After spending about an hour on the ground the aircraft will depart for Windhoek, Namibia.

Track the flight using registration G-TCSX or visit https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/g-tcsx. We'll also post a live link here on Monday.

You can learn more about the flight at http://www.atlanticstarairlines.com/sin ... viationh/t AirportWebcams

:scratchhead: :reading: will be interesting and good to see what comes of this.... I would respect Comair's standards and decision but as a once off they might be ok!

The B752 G-TCSX is in country routing for FALA from FACT now. Prep most likely for the flight to St Helena tomorrow.

Cancelled. From FR24 site:

Unfortunately, the 757 familiarization flight that was due to land at St Helena tomorrow has been postponed. The aircraft, G-TCSX, is needed for commercial operations elsewhere.
At this time, it is not known when the flight will take place, but it is likely to be months from now.

If CAA will give me a ferry permit for a long range tank, I will fly to St Helena first opportunity, there must be spectacular fishing there

Crazy idea, but could you not reregister the Aztec as a ZU- reg and just install the long range tanks? That should make it legal, right?

Things are happening again for Airlink.

The first passenger flight to St Helena has departed Cape Town for a fuel stop at Namibe. The flight will then depart for St Helena with an estimated time of arrival of 1300 UTC.

You can follow the first leg of the journey at https://www.flightradar24.com/SA8878/d43503d

Saints fly home for the first time

SA AIRLINK LANDS FIRST COMMERCIAL PASSENGER FLIGHT AT ST HELENA AIRPORT | SHARON HENRY

The feel good factor oozing around St Helena Airport today was just fantastic to witness. The very first commercial passenger flight into St Helena took place; an Avro RJ85 aircraft operated by SA Airlink made the smoothest landing you could hope to see and in doing so gave hope to all of us that regular flights are not far away.

This was a charter flight, hastily organised by St Helena Government (SHG) to bring 60 passengers up from Cape Town who were stranded after the RMS St Helena had become crippled with propeller problems and forced into two dry dock sessions.

History in the making! I know, we’ve been saying that a lot over the last year, but this really was special. For the very first time we got to see and feel our new airport come alive in the way it was always meant to do. Tearful goodbyes and joyful reunions mixed with the tingly excitement of air travel which cuts travel times from five days to three hours!
