Postby great dane » Wed Nov 23, 2016 8:53 pm

As promised on WhatsApp a Schiphol topic where I will post some of my old pics from when I lived close by, and the occasional one when passing through these days.

Just one for tonight to start - Raffles kakplaats visitor when it visited Schiphol in May 2007 - UR-09307 Antonov An-22 Antonov Design Bureau

Anyway, back to Amsterdam - 2 August 2005 - an ordinary day at AMS.

TC-ONT Airbus A300B4-203 Onur Air - this machine was delivered to SAA back in 1981 as ZS-SDE :cool1: has since been scrapped :Don't Like:
ImageTC-ONT_02Aug05-EHAM by Aviation Adventures South Africa, on Flickr

TC-FLK Airbus A300B4-2C Fly Airlines in basic colours of former owner Japan Air System. Now with Iran Air and might still be active on the domestic network.

TC-FLM Airbus 300B2K-3C Fly Airlines stored in Istanbul since 2008.

Never got to fly on the B4 or B2 versions of the A300, only managed the -600 with Lufthansa. Apart from Iran Air I don't think there are any A300s left in pax service :crybaby:

I don't get why DAS Air went bankrupt. Joe started that airline from scratch with the 707's. He had the full support from Andy King and Andy Leslie (ANA). ANA is still doing good, using mainly the Western Global MD11's to JNB. The callsign they're using AJK (BAMBI) was an old Das/Gas air callsign....

Couple more freighters, although Northwest was a very common visitors at AMS we rarely saw their freighters.
These two come in on a charter to ship out the Beaujolais Nouveau 2004 Vintage :avi:

N644NW Boeing 747-212F(SCD) Northwest Airlines Cargo - went on to serve with Kalitta for a couple years but have since been retired.

Next up was this silver bullet - N639US Boeing 747-251F(SCD) Northwest Airlines Cargo - was stored at Victorville shortly after NWAs merger with(into) Delta.
