Two visits two weeks apart on the way to and from my field guide training :cool2:

ZS-SSH Avro RJ85 of Airlink landing while ZS-OTV Cessna 208B Grand Caravan of Federal Airlines is taxiing out

Whole gaggle of Caravans around, including three of the Airlink ones - all parked badly for pics, this was the best I could do - ZS-MLW

Other Caravans included ZS-DAA and ZS-DGH of Federal Airlines but also ZS-XXL that I haven't seen for quite some time.

Among other lodge hoppers were ZS-MBT Beech 58 Baron in cool colours and ZS-MSF Pilatus PC-12

Down at the maintenance area ZS-KLM and former ZS-OTD were among the several Embraer 120s around. Also a derelict 737, a couple BAe 146s, a Shorts 360 and Jeststream 41.

That was it :bye2:

Ah, the prodigal GD returns with a truck load of pictures. Thanks for starting this thread for FAKN. Some really great pictures. Tons of Caravans around :good:

In anticipation of B407s pics, the BAe 146s we were wara waraing about as seen September 2012.

The three of them in KMIs own little corrosion corner.

ZS-PZY (ex TN-AHX) BAe 146-200 cn E2051, was apperently completely scrapped May 2014

ZS-AAX (ex TN-AIF) BAe 146-200 cn E2092, note the 'AIF' on nosewheeldoor

ZS-AAZ BAe 146-200 cn E2039 devoid of any markings, has also been reported as TN-AIC (ZS-SFZ) cn E2030 but that can't be true as that was at Lanseria long before and until finally broken up. Asume someone misread the 9 on the plate as a 0, wouldn't be the first time.

Not much to show and taken with cell phone camera.

Airlink's RJ85 ZS-SSJ just arrived from Jo'burg and on the return flight shortly.

Thanks for the pix and video etc. It's an interesting route.

The take-off is fun as you go over the edge at the end of the runway at KMI and wend your way through the koppies.

Feels like a a carrier take-off to me. (Using my overactive imagination here.) :whistlin:

:thanx:
