A few more

First time I have seen this one flying - ZU-AUX Aero Vodochody L.29 Delfin

Poetry in motion - ZS-CAI Douglas DC-3C (C-47A) Sprinbok Classic Air

More Springbok Classic Air, ZS-OIJ Beech E18S, hard to believe this was standing abandoned in the Namibian desert for years.

Everybody says Nigel is such a great pilot - to me it seem he has problems keeping his ZS-XSC Extra 330SC straight and level

Damn awesome pictures there GD. Thank you kindly for taking the time to post. I must agree though that the shot of CAI is just superb and well captioned - Poetry In Motion.

And some really cool helichopter pictures there - looks like you had some great flips :burner:

And more :sunglasses:

Another one of my personal highlight, ZS-JGV DH.89A Dragon Rapide with DHC-1 Chipmunks ZS-COX and ZS-DXO
ImageZS-JGV_COX_DXO_21Aug16-FAGM by Aviation Adventures South Africa, on Flickr

Even if not really my kind of thing the RV Raptors knocked the socks of the Silver Falcons. The RVs even make more sound than the PC-7s
ImageRVRaptors_21Aug16-FAGM by Aviation Adventures South Africa, on Flickr

A North American formation was announced, unfortunately the Mustang failed to join. Minor issue I think, taxied out only to return, but was flying some 30 minutes later. Two T-28 Trojans and a Harvard was not too shabby either though.

Even if Mennos P-51D Mustang N72FT is repeated at every show it stays great

To be honest I have never liked the look of the Dauphin - too bulbous for me but I believe she certainly does shift along

A couple of the 23 Helicopters inside Henley Air's open hangar :good:

Robinson family - ZS-HGX R66, ZS-RJL R44 and ZS-RZH R22

The open cockpit and photo opportunity with ZS-RXN Robinson R22 created long queues and lots of big smiles on small faces :Like:

Thx! Dennis joined in one of the Pitts? or was he busy with other things?
ImageZU-AUX2_21Aug16-FAGM by Aviation Adventures South Africa, on Flickr

One of the reasons why I like the South African airshow scene, despite most aircraft being the same at most shows they almost always put some different formation in the air :thumbsup1:

Really nice to see one of the old L29's in the air again :sparkle: and the open access to the R22 in the Henley hangar proved a great hit with loads getting their picture taken :champion:

Besides the two 407s I flew, a good few other Bells were available for short flips at R200.

Capital Air used these three:

ZS-HIB Bell 206L-1 LongRanger II (should have tried that one as it would have been a new sub-type for me, as both my earlier 206L flights have been LongRanger IIIs)
ImageZS-HIB_21Aug16-FAGM by Aviation Adventures South Africa, on Flickr

ZS-REP Bell 206B JetRanger III (flew on that one during the 2013 Rand Airshow)
ImageZS-REP_21Aug16-FAGM by Aviation Adventures South Africa, on Flickr

ZS-HJB Bell 206B JetRanger III replaced REP in the afternoon
ImageZS-HJB_21Aug16-FAGM by Aviation Adventures South Africa, on Flickr

NAC used ZS-HAU Bell 206B JetRanger III for a couple hours in the morning until ZS-CGV showed up
ImageZS-HAU_21Aug16-FAGM by Aviation Adventures South Africa, on Flickr

Henley also had three choppers going.

ZS-HBY Bell 206B JetRanger III was used in the morning until ZS-ROB arrived
ImageZS-HBY_21Aug16-FAGM by Aviation Adventures South Africa, on Flickr

ZS-HVY Bell 206B JetRanger II (should have gone on that one as well as all my 206 flights so far have been Jet Ranger IIIs)
ImageZS-HVY_21Aug16-FAGM by Aviation Adventures South Africa, on Flickr

So in average 5 helicopters active throughout the day (except for a couple breaks when Silver Falcons were flying). 6 hours, I guess 8 flips per hours and in average 5 pax per flip should make around 1200 pax having had a helicopter experience on the day

Last ones I think . . .

ZS-SJD Boeing 737-800 Mango flown by Scully Levin, not sure who was helping out . . .
ImageZS-SJD_21Aug16-FAGM by Aviation Adventures South Africa, on Flickr

Team Torre Pitts Specials
ImagePitts_21Aug16-FAGM by Aviation Adventures South Africa, on Flickr

Flying Lions - judged by the current colours you would almost think Star Air Cargo was their new sponsers :outtahere:
ImageHarvards_21Aug16-FAGM by Aviation Adventures South Africa, on Flickr

Unfortunately I missed Larry's Gulfstream IIB display. We checked if any Learjet 45s (as advertised) were planed out of the nearby airports but found none. We did see ZS-DJA had a FALA-FALA flight planed, I just though that was another test flight so went to the choppers. Could have kicked myself! Here a photo of the GIIB from Morné Booij-Liewes as posted on Facebook.

That was it, if I would have known Moertoe was around I would have tracked him down
