Seen at Off-Airport Locations

#1

Postby Bell 407 » Tue Feb 12, 2013 4:32 pm

Thought I would start another thread for pictures of aeries seen at off-airport locations. Was in the Helicopter GF South of Rand this afternoon (unfortunately not flying) and snapped this beauty as she passed overhead. She had just turned base-leg for FAOR:

Global Supply Systems Boeing 747-87UF G-GSSD.

I have a better one, but it is off center so I have to edit it first.

A couple of aerials from the ABSA Premiership soccer match between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs as taken from the pointy end of things on Saturday 31 Oct 2015. For the record, Pirates won 3-1.

Moertoe, now you know where 87J lives, a wake-up call in the middle of the night with those 732 engines howling should be in order :zirbirt:

I think I remember that debate on one of the other sites. Think it was an IL76 that was fully laden and struggled to get altitude

Nope, it was either a B727F or B732F

Would never have been ZS-IAC, she flew CPT-JNB-CPT only. I used to fly her every now and then but never via PLZ unless there was an unusual schedule change.

Could well have been IAC, the routing was off 19 with a left turn to go overhead Franschhoek, which put them directly over my old place (as the crow flies)... Dayum, that airplane was LOUD!

The way we operate is at 800' AGL climb thrust and retract flaps. We climb out at 210IAS to clear 6500' within 10DME CTV and 9000' within 18DME. The noise shouldn't be that loud
