For the ATC people, any idea why this approach for an overhead and right hand downwind for an approach on to 03R? Traffic congestion on the normal left hand downwind approach?

Everyone else had been doing the normal STAR this morning

SAA 280 to Perth returned to FAOR last night quite soon after departure. No fuel dumping so not sure the reason

I see that ZS-SXF did SAA 9286 this evening but first went to Durban and then left for Hong Kong. So it already had a flight id prefixed by "9" out of Jo'burg. Any ideas why?

Too heavy with fuel so went via Durban?

They usually prefix the flight number when an extra flight is put on.

Congrats on the purchase. You won't regret it. The Qantarse flight routing round weather I'm sure.

On the newer transponders you can put in your flight number or callsign and it will display on FR24. I tried it a while back when ZS-TGN flew around for almost a month as "cargo".

Serious weather over Gauteng last night. The delayed BAW55D flight from London tried to get into FAOR but to avail. Eventually went to FALE and then returned later.
