Been a while since I have posted, so here are just a few pictures from a flight around Gauteng today.

Route today was Rand - Vereeniging - Rand - Springs - Nigel - Heidelberg - Vereeniging - Rand and lasted just over 3 hours.

Arrived at Rand this morning to face the usual winter early morning fog. Not going anywhere quckly at this time :haha:

Once again, our trusty steed was Bell407gx ZS-ROB. Lovely machine to fly with the G1000 display

This here is us just flying over an old weir on the Natalspruit just south of ORT and in the southern corridor routing near Katlehong.

And here a great shot of our shadow over the wetlands near Springs :good:

Just a few close up shots of the G1000 display for different screen options. Having the rear looking camera is amazing indeed

Pilots growing up with ROB will never know the feel of fresh wind in your face, the smell of Castrol oil, and the throb and vibration of the power plant. Navigation was much easier, just a map over your knee and reference points on the ground. A GPS?? Never heard of that.

Agreed, that's why we all go and fly the R22 from time to time to get that "Seat of your Pants" feeling again :good:
