It's taken me a day or 2 to recover from The Good Pub visit

Did a double Cairo yesterday which was a tough day including a lot of orbiting in Cairo while we waited for a VIP movement, only in Africa :yikes: the biggest airport ever with 3 runways and they close the whole place for one VIP! It was unbelievable to be in such a busy space and everyone just circling and diverting everywhere ... especially on leg 3 of 4

Back to Beirut or Sulaymaniyah later tonight for me... hoping to do a Baghdad and chat to Joeatc before I leave on the 29th :thumbsup1:

Will post pics when I get better wifi... managed some terrible ones of the pyramids :faceplant:

Well, guess it was our friends from the US of A that invented the airport closure idea for VVIP movements :carton:

Some of your company in the CAI airspace - FR24 only show ADS-B equipped aircraft above CAI so sadly not TGB. The VIP movement was probably also not ADS-B at least nothing interesting to be seen on FR24. A BBJ2 and and an Oman gwmt A320 over the top, but doubt that had anything to do with it. NP9000 was a 'new' Air Nile A321 on a test-flight.

Saw the aircraft went back again after you return for a 7 hour night-stop at CAI. Not much time to party if it is the same crew flying out again :yikes:

Weird thing on this route is the Turkish/Greek dispute over Cyprus. Neither one (except Nicosia) will hand you over to each other because of the island dispute. Apparently it's NOTAM'ed but I haven't seen it. It's not only childish but a flight safety hazard.

Great picture of that bridge Moertoe. And yes, politics is not just limited to the ground - the skies are full of it too

Good photo's, enjoyable viewing.

When looking at really old buildings and structures it always comes to mind that they did not have the modern tools or mechanical help we have today, yet they are still standing hundreds of years later.

Kuwait this morning.... nice to see a B747 again.

It's actually a really busy place, Kuwait Airlines have a big modern fleet as well of B777's and A330's.
