Not really a trip report as it was hardly a trip. Does fit the fun flight category though :agree:

Early morning meet at Wonderboom for a short flight to Mongena Game Lodge in Dinokeng. Very short flight but enjoyable nevertheless.

Our chariot for the day was this beautiful 1973 vintage PA-23 Aztec E

Proper steam cockpit, no touchscreen insight

Airliner at Wonderboom, still have to get used to that.

Engine run up - Number two for take off. Only two aircraft seen active at FAWB today.

Very smooth flight in the cool morning - here runway dead ahead some 18 minutes after departure.
Despite a runway inspection both Impala and Warthog was back just next to runway on landing.

Pick-up service on arrival

After a delicious breakfast we had a quick walk around the garden where this Agama was posing.

Also the Zebras wanted to give us a show before we headed back to the plane.

Before departure the Beechcraft (!) termometer showed 42C, was probably less but plenty warm for 10 o'clock.

Being a Landy fan this sticker made me a little uneasy

Anyway, all was good, and soon we were airborne for our 12 minute flight back to WB.

That was the end to a lovely morning in the air. My last fix this year I would think.

GD, brilliant stuff as always even though it was a 12 minute flight either way. Appreciate the time and effort put into posting as this "view" is always such great fun to see :friends:

Did you enjoy the Aztec ride? Noisy at all?

Not too much experience with piston twins. But much more quiet than a Baron in my memory. And yes I enjoy any ride so easy to please :scratchhead:
