Re: GDs Fun Flights - Europe 2017

All that was missing 407 was the coffee machine on the end of the workbench, sorry office table.

Re: GDs Fun Flights - Europe 2017

Thanks once again GD for taking us on an armchair ride with you, as you visit some places in far away countries that some of us have never heard of. The detail you capture in your photographs is matched in your description or comment. An example being the 747 Hotel, after seeing the pictures who wou...

Storm in Durban 10 Oct

Today around 11:00 we were hit by a Category 3 Tropical Cyclone. We have been in our house 40 years and have never suffered any storm damage. Today we have mainly roof tile damage to the garage and granny flat. Looking out to the neighbours all around, all you can see is missing gutters and broken t...

Re: SAA Agrees to Hire Recovery Expert

I am sure the few working South Africans will still be able to afford one simple expert's monthly tip. What they may not afford is his reasonably priced answers to SAA's state of affairs. On a different note - I look at the expansion of CemAir from a single start-up Durban to Margate service, to wha...

Re: The return of Propnut

No copper in the area at all - all stolen. My son-in-law has an 10MB LTE router and runs a wi-fi network. The trouble with a reasonably good system is that all your equipment that connects to it "sees" the connection as fast, so it adjusts programs like You Tube to display at full HD resol...

The return of Propnut

Hi all. Been missing for the last five weeks, not locked up, not on a drunken binge, just chilling. In reality the wife and I were up on the plot in Mnandi, Centurion, visiting the grandchildren. What a different life to the city rush some of us live in. There was an altercation between the father a...

The art of low and slow well practised GD. And all that with no flaps to assist - good all round airmanship.

Re: OR Tambo Airport Security Warning

Welcome to Tombstone Gulch, er, sorry, ORT.

The only difference between the USA citizens and the RSA citizens, is the USA citizens are used to the Colt .45 while here in the RSA we are used to the AK-47.

Re: Airlink ORT to PMB return (Inbound Leg)

In the early to mid-90's I was involved in a project that was rolling out new software in the coastal ports DBN-ELS-PLZ and CPT. This involved many SAA flights between these ports as company policy was that we were restricted to SAA. I got to know Cpt. Terry Jones who was often the captain on the DB...

Well 407 that makes a change in the seat we normally see you snapping photo's from. Still some good shots in poor light conditions.

Nothing more ugly than a broken aircraft. Anyone able to walk away from an aircraft accident, needs to report to the nearest bar for a Bells.
