Re: Enroute A380 wake flips Challenger 604 upside down

Been saying it since it's inception, the A380 will have a massive wake. Airbus fans however refuse to believe it is any bigger than that of the 747.

JAX to DFW on the venerable MD88

JAX to DFW on the venerable MD88. No music, just raw, as recorded, sounds.

Filmed on my phone camera which started acting up just after reaching cruise. So after initial take off the video sadly skips to our approach.

Re: Malaysia Airlines MH370 B777-200 Missing (239 onboard) Update: debris found off Mozambique and on South African beac

I've lost count of how many conspiracy theories there are. Among the most daft is "It's in Diego Garcia, the US government has it". As I've said before, I do not believe in the fire or subtle incapacitation of all on board theories either. The reasons for which I have already gone into. In...

Re: Aerosucre B722 overran runway on takeoff at Puerto Carreno

So, I was right, No.3 did suffer from that impact. I've been shot down of other fora for suggesting that. Wait - let me guess - the forum where it's "All about the flying" right? :haha: More likely A-net, prune or the Key Publishing forum or all 3. It was A.net. I only lurk on PPrune thes...

Re: Malaysia Airlines MH370 B777-200 Missing (239 onboard) Update: debris found off Mozambique and on South African beac

I think that is BS. The flight path taken after the loss of contact is not in line with would happen. If the crew became incapacitated via such a decompression, assuming they forgot all procedures and did not put on their masks, the plane would fly the set route in the flight management system. Once...

Re: LAMIA Bolivia flight LMI2933 with Brazilian soccer team crashes in Colombia

It seems they had some sort of "how not to conserve fuel and energy" book and were following it step by step!
How can such experienced pilot screw up on such fundamental basics in airmanship.

I'm not a pilot, but even I know you not to do what these guys did.

I think so yeah.

Right now they are deep into figuring out how to blame America or an American airline.

Re: Aerosucre B722 overran runway on takeoff at Puerto Carreno

That would likely explain the wing dipping to the right. They most likely turned round, slowed down a bit for landing and the uneven lift caught them out as we see in the video?

Also, looking at the picture, is it just me, or does No.3 have no cowling?

Re: Aerosucre B722 overran runway on takeoff at Puerto Carreno

Raffles, other 727 jockeys: would the 727 suffer from uneven slat retraction if the control surfaces or hydraulic lines were damaged? The plane makes a rather steep bank before it crashes. Could a damaged wing have suffered a slat retraction that created a lift imbalance and thus induce such a bank....

I think it, like all the other machines Airbus makes, looks awkward and ungainly.

This project will never float. He's been banging on about this since 2000 or so. Every year it is re-announced and the launch date shifts accordingly.

Re: Trump on Boeing's Air Force One contract: "Cancel Order!"

Trump is an arse. What alternatives are there? You could get Lockheed to design a purpose built one I supposed, but that will be 12 Billion in development alone. Also... it's a little harsh to blame Boeing for the 6Bil cost. That's all down to the secret service and their preferred suppliers for the...
